Position overview

Confidential Client is seeking a Registered Nurse (Outpatient Float) to support ambulatory clinic operations in Millington, TN. This is a contract, full-time opportunity providing patient care across outpatient specialties. The role requires active RN licensure and the ability to work in fast-paced clinical settings while floating between clinic areas as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Provide safe, patient-centered nursing care across outpatient clinic areas as assigned (float role).
• Triage, assess, and deliver treatment consistent with clinic protocols and provider direction.
• Coordinate clinic flow and care coordination for outpatient specialty and urgent care visits.
• Administer medications, perform procedures and document care accurately in the medical record.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support evidence-based practice and quality improvement.
• Maintain infection-control standards and don appropriate personal protective equipment when required.
• Support patient transfers and safe handling per facility policy.

Minimum qualifications

• Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration/licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in any U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia.
• Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program (ADN, Diploma, BSN) or equivalent validated foreign credential with required licensure.
• English language proficiency sufficient for safe, effective patient care.
• Ability to meet physical requirements (visual acuity, hearing, speech, manual dexterity) and to perform frequent walking, standing, bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and patient transfers.
• Willingness to complete mandatory pre-employment and annual employee health requirements (e.g., TB screening, vaccinations).

Preferred qualifications

• Active ambulatory care or case management certification.
• 1–2 years of ICU, step-down, or medical–surgical experience.
• Prior outpatient specialty or urgent care experience (examples: cardiology, GI, endocrine).
• Experience with clinic flow coordination and care coordination.
• BSN preferred for higher-level roles; MSN or advanced degrees considered for senior-level assignments.

Grade / experience guidance

The client uses grade/level criteria tied to education and experience:

• Entry-level RN (Nurse I, Level I): ADN or diploma.
• Nurse I, Level II: ADN/diploma + 1 year specialized nursing experience or BSN.
• Nurse I, Level III and Nurse II/III: higher education and progressively more specialized experience per the client’s qualification standard.

Compensation & schedule

• Employment type: Contract, Full time.
• Salary range (provided by client): $73,948 – $134,618 per year.
• Schedule: Outpatient clinic hours; flexibility to float across clinic areas is required.

Physical & workplace environment

• This role may expose the incumbent to infectious agents and occasionally to combative patients; appropriate PPE and training will be provided.
• A pre-placement physical exam may be required to determine fitness for duty.
• The position requires stamina for prolonged standing, walking, and manual tasks, and the ability to lift and transfer patients/objects when necessary.
