Key Responsibilities
As a Registered Nurse (Med‑Surg) on the 3 North unit you will provide safe, evidence‑based nursing care to adult medical/surgical patients. Typical responsibilities include:
- Perform patient assessments, develop and implement nursing care plans, and document care in the medical record
- Administer medications, IV therapy, and other treatments per orders and hospital policy
- Monitor patient status, recognize changes, escalate appropriately, and coordinate with the interdisciplinary team
- Provide patient and family education related to diagnosis, treatment, discharge planning and self‑care
- Participate in quality improvement, infection control, and safety initiatives
- Support mentorship/precepting of new staff and participate in continuing professional development
Required Qualifications
Candidates must meet applicable licensure, education, and experience requirements to be considered.
- Current, full, active, and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in a U.S. state, territory, commonwealth, or the District of Columbia
- Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program (ADN, diploma, BSN) from an accredited body (ACEN or CCNE) OR equivalent as described by the hiring authority
- English language proficiency sufficient for safe, accurate clinical documentation and patient communication
- Meet physical requirements to perform duties (lifting, standing, patient transfers, etc.)
- Ability to obtain any required facility credentials and pass background checks
Notes on special cases
- Graduate Nurse Technician (GNT) exception may allow appointment on a temporary basis (e.g., 120‑day temporary appointment while pursuing licensure) per client policy
- Foreign-educated nurses may require degree equivalency validation by a recognized evaluator
Education & Experience — Grade/Level Guidance
Education and experience determine grade/level placement. Examples:
- Nurse I — Level I: ADN or diploma; entry-level nursing duties
- Nurse I — Level II: ADN/diploma + 1 year specialized experience OR BSN (entry)
- Nurse I — Level III: ADN/diploma + 2 years professional nursing (one year equivalent to Level II) OR BSN + 1 year equivalent OR MSN (no additional experience)
- Nurse II / III: Advanced degrees (BSN/MSN/Doctoral) and progressive specialized experience as outlined by the hiring assessment
(These grade/level rules reflect the qualification standard used by the client and help determine final placement.)
Licensure & Certification
- Active RN license (required)
- ACLS, BLS, and other unit‑specific certifications may be required — maintain current certifications as directed by the hiring facility
Compensation & Schedule
- Employment type: Full‑time, Contractor
- Salary range (posted): $90,747 — $192,945 per year
- Exact pay will be based on grade/level, education, experience, and client policies
- Schedule: Full‑time shifts (per unit staffing model)
