About the Role

Confidential Client is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Internal Medicine Unit in Ashland, KY. This full-time RN role focuses on delivering high-quality, patient-centered care on a medical (internal medicine) unit. Ideal candidates are compassionate, safety-focused, and able to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes.

What You’ll Do

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and screenings; document findings and condition changes.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans in coordination with patients, families, and the care team.
• Safely administer medications and treatments; monitor effectiveness and report adverse reactions.
• Provide patient and family education about diagnoses, treatments, discharge planning, and self-care.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and participate in quality improvement activities.
• Delegate appropriate tasks to support staff and supervise care delivery when applicable.
• Maintain professional development, required licensure, and mandatory training.

Key Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• 0–2 years of RN experience in nursing or a related clinical area (early-career RNs encouraged).
• Associate’s degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work flexible shifts on an internal medicine unit.

Certifications & Licenses

• Required: Current RN license, Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Required/Preferred: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
• Based on assigned area, the following may be required or preferred: CPI, NIH Stroke Scale, oncology certifications (AOCN, BMTCN, CPHON, CPON, CBCN, OCN), NRP, PALS, TNCC/BTLS, Mental Health Nurse certification.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands

• Regular standing/walking; intermittent lifting/pushing/pulling up to 50 lbs; occasional lifting over 50 lbs.
• Intermittent exposure to bloodborne/airborne pathogens, hazardous materials, and combative patients.
• Repetitive motions and occasional prolonged computer documentation.
• Job-related travel is minimal/occasional.
• Specific physical demands and exposure levels will be discussed during hiring.

• Associate’s degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred.
• 0–2 years of relevant nursing experience preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
