Overview
Confidential Client is hiring a Registered Nurse (Inpatient) for a contract, full-time role in San Antonio, TX. This inpatient nursing position supports high-quality patient care on medical/surgical units and other acute care areas. The role requires active nursing licensure and clinical experience; BSN-prepared candidates and med/surg experience are strongly preferred.
What You’ll Do
- Provide safe, patient-focused nursing care on inpatient units (assessments, medication administration, wound care, documentation).
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
- Use evidence-based practice to support clinical decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Educate patients and families on care plans, procedures, and discharge instructions.
- Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation and comply with all regulatory and organizational standards.
- Participate in unit-based quality and safety initiatives.
Qualifications (Minimum Requirements)
- Current, full, active, and unrestricted RN registration/license in a U.S. State, Territory, or the District of Columbia.
- Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program (ADN/Diploma/BSN) approved by ACEN or CCNE, or equivalent for foreign-educated nurses with validated equivalency.
- English language proficiency sufficient for safe patient care and documentation.
- For candidates pursuing licensure: Graduate Nurse Technician (GNT) exception may apply (temporary appointment while pursuing licensure, per state and organizational policy).
- Ability to perform physical requirements of the role (may include walking/standing, occasional lifting of light items under 15 lbs).
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Experience & Grade-Level Guidance
- Nurse I, Level I: ADN/Diploma, entry-level.
- Nurse I, Level II: ADN/Diploma + 1 year specialized nursing experience OR BSN (entry).
- Nurse I, Level III: ADN/Diploma + 2 years specialized experience OR BSN + 1 year experience OR MSN.
- Nurse II / Nurse III: Advanced degree and progressive specialized experience as outlined by the qualification standard.
- Preferred: BSN-prepared; 1–2 years recent med/surg inpatient experience.
Compensation & Employment Details
- Salary range: $85,610 – $173,974 per year (Confidential Client) — actual pay depends on grade, experience, and qualifications.
- Employment type: Contract; Full time.
- Location: San Antonio, TX (on-site inpatient role).
- Start date: As soon as qualified candidates are available.
