About the Role

This opportunity is for a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Department (ED) at a Confidential Client facility in Martinsburg, WV. You will deliver direct patient care in an urgent, high‑acuity environment, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to triage, assess, treat, and document care for veterans/patients in accordance with facility policies and regulatory requirements.


What You’ll Do

  • Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department (triage, assessments, nursing interventions and monitoring)
  • Administer medications and treatments per provider orders and scope of practice
  • Collaborate with physicians, ancillary staff, and other disciplines to coordinate care
  • Accurately document patient assessments, treatments, and outcomes in clinical records
  • Maintain patient safety, infection control, and regulatory compliance
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement, evidence‑based practice initiatives, and professional development activities

Key Qualifications

  • English language proficiency (written and spoken)
  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing approved by ACEN or CCNE — OR enrollment in a master’s bridge program with equivalent coursework as specified
  • Current, full, active, and unrestricted RN registration/license in a U.S. State, Territory, Commonwealth, or D.C.
  • Graduate Nurse Technician (GNT) exception: candidates meeting education requirements but not yet licensed may be appointed temporarily while pursuing licensure (per posted rules)
  • Grade/level determinations follow the posted Scope/Education/Dimension criteria; education and years of specialized experience determine Nurse I (Levels I–III), Nurse II, and Nurse III assignments (see official qualification standard link)
  • Physical requirements: ability to stand/walk long periods (8–12 hours), perform regular heavy lifting/positioning of patients (35+ lbs), bend/stoop/squat/kneel, push/pull equipment — duties require physical endurance for assigned shifts
