Summary
Confidential Client is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Community Living Center (CLC) to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered nursing care in a rehab and extended care setting. This role coordinates care across the continuum, supports safe patient transitions, and works within an interdisciplinary team to improve outcomes for veterans. This opportunity includes eligibility for certain loan repayment programs and a competitive federal benefits package.
What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care using the full nursing process and age-specific considerations.
- Coordinate care and support patient and family education for safe transitions and self-management after discharge.
- Administer medications and perform clinical procedures per established policies; complete skin assessments and document pain management interventions.
- Oversee and collaborate with Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and other team members to ensure orders are completed and care is consistent.
- Participate in code response and check emergency equipment readiness as part of the code team.
- Contribute to unit-level quality improvement initiatives and facility accreditation readiness.
- Build therapeutic relationships that respect patients’ values, culture, and preferences.
- Maintain professional development through unit-based education and competency maintenance.
Qualifications & Experience
Basic requirements (must meet one of the following):
- Graduate of a professional nursing program accredited by ACEN or CCNE, OR
- Current, full, active, and unrestricted RN registration/license in any U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia.
- English language proficiency required for direct patient care.
Grade/level and experience criteria follow federal qualification standards (Nurse I Levels I–III, Nurse II, Nurse III). Candidates with ADN, BSN, MSN, or doctoral degrees and varying amounts of professional nursing experience will be considered per the qualification standard.
Graduate Nurse Technician (GNT) Exception: Candidates who meet education requirements but lack licensure may be considered for a limited temporary appointment while pursuing licensure.
Requirements & Conditions of Employment
- U.S. Citizenship required (non-citizens considered only where permitted by policy).
- Background/security investigation and pre-employment drug screening for designated positions. Refusal to test may result in denial of employment.
- Selective Service registration required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- Must pass a pre-employment physical examination.
- Participation in seasonal influenza vaccination program may be required.
- Driver’s licenses that are not REAL ID compliant cannot be used for I-9 verification effective May 7, 2025.

Compensation & Benefits
- Estimated pay (posted): $171,532 per year (estimated).
- Comprehensive federal benefits package including: paid leave (annual, sick, and federal holidays), federal retirement plan and Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) with agency contributions, health/vision/dental insurance options, life and long-term care insurance, parental and military leave, employee wellness programs, and continuing education opportunities.
- Eligibility for certain education loan repayment programs may be available to qualified candidates per program rules.
Work Schedule & Location
- Onsite role in Sioux Falls, SD (Confidential Client facility).
- Day and Night shift schedules available; rotating weekends and holidays required for many schedules. Specific shift patterns vary by unit.
