Position Overview
Confidential Client is seeking a Registered Nurse to support care in a Community Living Center (CLC) setting in Perry Point, MD. This role focuses on providing high-quality, veteran/patient-centered nursing care in a long-term/geriatric environment. The ideal candidate is clinically competent, patient-focused, and experienced or interested in geriatric and dementia care.
What You’ll Do
- Provide direct nursing care to residents in a Community Living Center, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care
- Administer medications and treatments safely according to policy and scope of practice
- Monitor and document patient condition, treatments, and care plans in the medical record
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members (physicians, therapists, social workers, aides) to coordinate comprehensive care
- Support activities of daily living (ADLs) and perform safe patient transfers and mobility assistance
- Apply infection prevention and control practices, including use of personal protective equipment (PPE) when required
- Participate in evidence-based practice initiatives, quality improvement, and professional development
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with residents and family members, managing situations that may be stressful or involve behavioral health needs
Minimum Qualifications
- English language proficiency sufficient for safe, effective patient care and documentation
- Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing (ACEN or CCNE accreditation at time of completion) OR equivalent foreign nursing education with recognized equivalency validation where applicable
- Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration/licensure as a professional nurse in a U.S. State, Territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia
- Graduate Nurse Technician (GNT) exception may apply for candidates meeting education requirements but lacking licensure, allowing temporary appointment while pursuing licensure (per policy)
- Ability to meet grade/level scope and dimension requirements (Practice, Veteran/Patient Driven Care, Leadership, Professional Development, Evidence-Based Practice/Research) as detailed in applicable qualification standards
Preferred Qualifications
- Two or more years of geriatric long-term care experience and/or one or more years of dementia care experience
- BSN, MSN, or advanced degree in nursing or related field (as applicable to higher grade levels)
- Demonstrated leadership, clinical judgment, and experience managing complex resident care
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Visual acuity, hearing, clear speech, and manual dexterity required
- Ability to perform prolonged periods of walking, standing, stooping, sitting, bending, pulling, and pushing
- Ability to lift or assist with lifting up to at least 35 lbs as required for patient transfers
- May be exposed to infectious patients/materials and required to use protective clothing in isolation or during invasive procedures
- Occasional exposure to residents who may be combative due to delirium, dementia, or psychiatric disorders
- Must complete any required employee health screenings (for example, annual TB testing)
Compensation & Employment Type
- Salary range: $78,368 - $153,501 per year (Confidential Client)
