What You’ll Do
Registered Nurse — Community Living Center (CLC) — deliver direct, veteran-centered nursing care in a long‑term care / skilled nursing environment. Typical responsibilities include:
- Provide safe, high-quality direct nursing care and assessments to assigned residents.
- Develop, implement, and revise individualized care plans and clinical documentation.
- Administer medications and treatments, monitor responses, and escalate changes in condition.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (medicine, rehab, social work, pharmacy) to coordinate care.
- Support veteran/patient-driven care, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice initiatives.
- Supervise and mentor nursing support staff and participate in professional development activities.
- Maintain accurate records in electronic medical/clinical systems and comply with regulatory standards.
Who You Are — Required Qualifications
Applicants must meet the minimum regulatory and licensure requirements:
- English language proficiency (basic written and spoken English).
- Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program (ACEN or CCNE accreditation at time of program completion), or equivalent as described below.
- Current, full, active, and unrestricted RN registration/license in a U.S. State, Territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia.
- For graduates of foreign nursing programs: current, full, active, and unrestricted registration OR a recognized degree equivalency (e.g., International Consultants of Delaware) where required.
- Graduate Nurse Technician (GNT) exception: candidates who meet education requirements but not licensure may be appointed temporarily while pursuing state licensure (120‑day appointment; extensions considered case‑by‑case).

Grade-level examples (for hiring/placement reference):
- Nurse I, Level I — ADN or diploma (entry-level RN responsibilities).
- Nurse I, Level II — ADN/diploma + 1 year specialized nursing experience, or BSN with no additional experience.
- Nurse I, Level III — ADN/diploma + 2 years professional nursing (one year equivalent to Level II), or BSN + 1 year equivalent.
- Nurse II — BSN + 2 years (equivalent to Nurse I, Level III) or MSN + 1 year specialized experience.
- Nurse III — MSN + 2 years specialized nursing experience (meets Nurse II equivalent and dimension requirements) or doctoral-level equivalents.
