Role summary

Confidential Client is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Clinical Contact Center role based in Fort Knox, KY. This position supports patient triage, clinical guidance, care coordination, and documentation through phone- and telehealth-based encounters. The opportunity is a contractor, full‑time role. Compensation: $74,486 - $133,592 per year.


Key responsibilities

  • Provide nursing assessment, triage, and clinical guidance by phone or telehealth following established protocols.
  • Document encounters accurately in electronic health records and escalate to appropriate clinical teams when needed.
  • Provide patient education, self-care instructions, and follow‑up planning.
  • Coordinate care with providers, clinics, and other services to ensure timely patient management.
  • Participate in quality improvement, case review, and team huddles to improve call workflows and patient outcomes.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of protocols, clinical resources, and telehealth tools used by the contact center.
  • Adhere to privacy, documentation, and regulatory requirements for clinical contact services.

Required qualifications

  • English language proficiency (written and spoken).
  • Graduate of a professional nursing program accredited by ACEN or CCNE, or equivalent as described by licensure rules.
  • Current, full, active, and unrestricted RN registration/license in a U.S. State, Territory, Commonwealth, or D.C.
  • Ability to meet any local pre‑employment and periodic health screening requirements (e.g., TB screening, immunizations).
  • Able to perform the physical requirements of the role, including visual acuity, hearing, clear speech, manual dexterity; may involve prolonged sitting and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Willingness to work in a clinical contact center environment and to follow standardized triage protocols and documentation practices.

Notes on licensure & eligibility

  • Graduate Nurse Technician (GNT) exception: candidates who meet education requirements but lack licensure may be appointed temporarily while pursuing RN licensure, where allowed by policy (timeline and extensions per agency guidance).
  • Applicants educated outside the U.S. must have degree equivalency validation if education exceeds entry level; a current, unrestricted RN registration may meet appointment requirements.
  • Grade/level assignments will follow the hiring organization's qualification standards and assessment criteria.

Preferred experience

  • BSN preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year ED (emergency department) or urgent care nursing experience preferred.
  • Prior experience in a clinical or medical call center is a plus.
