Role Overview

This is a Full-Time, Contract Registered Nurse role supporting inpatient acute care at a confidential client in Milwaukee, WI. The position requires licensed RN practice, strong clinical judgment, and the ability to deliver high-quality, veteran-/patient-centered care in a fast-paced inpatient setting. What You’ll Do

• Provide safe, evidence-based acute inpatient nursing care to assigned patients.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments, develop and implement nursing plans, and document care accurately.
• Administer medications, monitor patient responses, and escalate changes in condition according to policy.
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams to support patient-centered outcomes and timely discharge planning.
• Participate in quality improvement, patient safety initiatives, and unit-based professional development.
• Support clinical education for patients, families, and less-experienced staff as appropriate.

Qualifications

• English language proficiency in spoken and written communication.
• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (ACEN or CCNE) OR comparable foreign-educated nurse with appropriate degree equivalency and current unrestricted registration.
• Current, full, active, and unrestricted RN license in a U.S. State, Territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia. Graduate Nurse Technician (GNT) temporary appointment options may apply per policy.
• Candidates will be assigned grade/level based on education, scope, and documented experience (Nurse I Levels I–III, Nurse II, Nurse III) consistent with the client’s qualification standards.
• Ability to meet the physical requirements of inpatient nursing, including prolonged standing/walking, moderate lifting, and use of safe patient handling protocols.

Preferred Qualifications

• Progressive Care / step-down or acute inpatient experience.
• ACLS certification.
• Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN) or other relevant specialty certification.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

• Frequent standing, walking, sitting, and bending; moderate lifting and patient handling expected.
• Fast-paced inpatient environment requiring adherence to safety and infection-control practices.
• Must be able to perform job duties with appropriate use of safe patient handling equipment and team-based assistance when needed.
