What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is hiring a Registered Nurse (Acute Care - Staff Inpatient) in Indianapolis, IN. As an Acute Care RN you will deliver safe, high-quality nursing care to assigned inpatients, coordinate with interdisciplinary teams, and support patient- and family-centered care across the inpatient setting.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide evidence-based nursing care for hospitalized patients across acuity levels
- Perform patient assessments, develop and implement care plans, and evaluate outcomes
- Administer medications and treatments according to policy and provider orders
- Monitor and document patient status and clinical interventions in the medical record
- Coordinate care transitions, discharges, and patient education
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, case managers, and support staff to optimize patient outcomes
- Participate in quality improvement and safety initiatives
Who We’re Looking For
We seek clinically competent, patient-focused RNs with strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced inpatient environment. Candidates should be adaptable, reliable, and able to work collaboratively on multi-disciplinary teams.
Preferred:
- Prior inpatient/acute care nursing experience
- Demonstrated clinical judgment and ability to prioritize
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and documentation best practices
Minimum Qualifications
All candidates must meet licensing and education requirements:
- Current, full, active, and unrestricted RN license in any U.S. state, territory, commonwealth (or District of Columbia) — must be maintained while employed
- Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program (ADN, diploma, BSN). Graduates of foreign nursing programs must present degree equivalency and current, unrestricted registration as required
- Candidates enrolled in approved master’s-level bridge programs with appropriate state rules may be considered for temporary appointment while pursuing full RN licensure (per client policy)
- Education/grade levels and experience determine specific grade/level assignment (e.g., Nurse I/II/III) — see job-specific assessment for details
Required competencies:
- English language proficiency sufficient for safe patient care and documentation
- Ability to perform physical aspects of nursing (standing, lifting, transfers) and to work on computers for documentation
- Ability to safely manage and de-escalate emotionally distressed patients when necessary
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
- This role requires frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and assisting with patient transfers (may involve lifting or pushing >50 lbs with mechanical assistance available)
- May require stair navigation and prolonged periods at a computer
- Clinical environment: inpatient unit with potential exposure to infectious agents and other healthcare hazards; appropriate PPE and training provided
Compensation & Employment Type
- Employment type: Contractor — Full Time (as listed)
- Salary: $75,619 - $126,293 per year (USD). Exact pay depends on grade/level, experience, and client policies.
