Where You Fit In

You’ll be a creative, friendly self-starter implementing a community-wide wellness program across the greater Charleston, WV region. As a Regional Program Coordinator, you will lead mentor teams, build partnerships with schools and universities, and directly support health education and outreach that helps teens make healthier choices.


What You’ll Do

  • Train, deploy, and supervise near-peer college mentors from area universities to deliver proven youth health programming across middle and high schools.
  • Engage and grow relationships with schools, districts, university partners, student wellness officers, alumni, and local organizations to support program goals.
  • Support program logistics: mentor scheduling, supply procurement, event planning, and on-the-ground coordination for school and community activities.
  • Deliver curriculum and lead in-person lessons, clubs, and educational events when needed.
  • Track and report on program impact, including community health needs assessment and outcome measurement.
  • Contribute to promotional materials and social media (Instagram, TikTok, etc.) to raise awareness of program work and student achievements.
  • Advocate for equitable access to health education and model the organization’s mission and values in all interactions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; Associate’s degree or equivalent experience considered.
  • Recent college graduate or early-career professional with a passion for health, education, and youth service.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
  • Experience with or interest in mentoring teens and building relationships with educators and community partners.
  • Commitment to addressing health disparities and working respectfully across diverse communities.

Skillset

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable juggling multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Creative and willing to pilot new program ideas and activities.
  • Growth mindset with a commitment to continuous learning and cultural humility.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office; familiarity with social media platforms helpful.
  • Bilingual candidates are a plus.

Physical & Travel Requirements

  • Prolonged periods sitting and computer-based work.
  • Ability to travel up to ~100 miles within the greater Charleston, WV region for site visits and events.
  • Availability for occasional afternoon, evening, or overnight travel and for annual staff training/retreats (1–2 times/year).
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds as needed.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle for frequent travel to schools/universities.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Employment type: Full-time, hourly (entry-level).
  • Hourly rate: $20.00 (annualized equivalent advertised at $41,600/year).
