What You’ll Do

The Regional Admissions Counselor will build and maintain relationships with prospective students, families, school counselors, church leaders, and other influencers to drive enrollment for our Confidential Client. This is an entry-level recruiting role focused on territory-based outreach, events, and follow-up to convert applicants into enrolled students.

  • Recruit students through visits to high schools, churches, college fairs, and community events.
  • Present to groups of students and parents on campus and off-campus.
  • Manage an assigned geographic territory and implement a recruitment strategy to maximize yield.
  • Interview prospective students and families to explain admission requirements, campus life, and academic programs.
  • Respond to written, phone, and in-person inquiries; refer applicants to campus resources as needed.
  • Maintain contact with admitted students through enrollment and coordinate yield activities.
  • Track recruitment activities, maintain records, and compile admissions reports.
  • Recommend recruiting plans and events to the Director of Recruiting.
  • Represent the university at off-campus events and support key on-campus events (e.g., admitted-student days).

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree required; this is an entry-level position (no prior admissions experience required).
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Clear written and verbal communication; strong follow-up and organizational skills.
  • Comfortable presenting to groups and engaging one-on-one with students and families.
  • Able to work independently, manage territory travel, and meet recruitment targets.
  • Proficient with common office software and comfortable learning CRM/admissions systems.
  • Ability to walk campus and attend events; must have sufficient mobility and stamina for travel.
  • Membership in an evangelical Christian church required; Southern Baptist membership preferred. (This is a bona fide occupational qualification for this role with our Confidential Client.)

Preferred

  • Degree in marketing, public relations, journalism, or related field.
  • Experience in college admissions or experience with Slate CRM.

Location & Travel

Primary work location: Shawnee, OK. The role will cover an assigned recruitment territory that may include parts of the Dallas–Fort Worth region and surrounding areas. Significant travel within the assigned territory is required (high-school visits, church visits, college fairs, and campus events). Some remote work flexibility is available, but candidates should be available for in-person events and campus travel as needed.


Compensation & Benefits

Estimated salary (from source): $37,321 per year (estimated).
