Position Overview

Confidential Client is hiring Real ID PUT Specialists for a time-limited, onsite contract in Paducah, KY. In this role you will learn and apply updated driver license issuance procedures (including Real ID and Commercial Driver License rules), verify applicant identity and supporting documents, enter data accurately into the state issuance system, and provide professional customer service to the public. This is a full-time, onsite role with occasional travel to satellite issuance locations; overnight stays may be required. This position requires successful completion of federal fingerprint/background checks and periodic driving-record reviews.


What You’ll Do

  • Review and analyze original identity documents and supporting records for driver license applicants, ensuring compliance with federal and state Real ID requirements.
  • Accurately enter applicant data into the state driver license issuance system (KDLIS/IDEMIA) and interpret driver history records.
  • Adjudicate complex applications, advise applicants on licensing questions, and escalate issues per policy.
  • Provide courteous, clear customer service in-person and by phone to both external and internal customers.
  • Participate in mobile or temporary issuance locations (libraries, manufacturing centers, correctional facilities, etc.) when assigned.
  • Follow Confidential Client’s policies, maintain confidentiality, and complete required training.
  • Complete required overtime or Saturday shifts when needed (typically minimal).

Required Qualifications

  • Right to work in the U.S.
  • Valid driver’s license and a driving record with no current or pending disqualifying issues; records will be screened periodically.
  • Ability to pass federal fingerprint/background checks.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong customer service orientation.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks accurately.
  • Comfortable standing or sitting at a workstation for shifts up to 8 hours.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and maintain professional, diplomatic conduct with the public.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate or bachelor’s degree, or equivalent clerical/administrative experience, is preferred.

Preferred / Helpful Experience

  • Customer service experience in a public-facing role.
  • Experience with data entry and records systems.
  • Familiarity with driver licensing rules, Real ID, or commercial driver licensing is a plus.

Physical & Background Requirements

  • Must be able to stand or sit for up to 8 hours per shift.
  • Must pass federal fingerprint/background checks.
  • Must maintain a valid driver license and acceptable driving record for the duration of the assignment.

Work Location, Schedule & Employment Type

  • Location: Paducah, KY — fully onsite with possible travel to other issuance sites across the state.
  • Employment type: Contract, Full-Time.
  • Schedule: Standard hours with occasional evening overtime (up to ~5 hours/week) and required Saturday shifts as needed.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay rate: $16.70 per hour.
