What You’ll Do

  • Support market planning and growth strategy through geospatial analytics, predictive modeling, and data-driven recommendations.
  • Conduct site selection and trade-area analyses using demographic, consumer, competitive, and sales data.
  • Perform spatial analyses including cannibalization, gap analysis, and market potential modeling to inform new-store, relocation, and portfolio decisions.
  • Build and maintain GIS datasets, geodatabases, and spatial workflows (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online).
  • Automate analysis and reporting using SQL, Python, and R; create repeatable processes and quality controls.
  • Develop dashboards, reports, and executive-ready presentations that communicate geographic and quantitative insights.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity to identify risks and growth opportunities.
  • Document methodologies and ensure data integrity, reproducibility, and version control.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Data Science, Statistics, Business Analytics, Economics, Urban Planning, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
  • 1–3 years of professional experience in data analysis, GIS, market planning, or a related field.
  • Practical experience with ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online (or equivalent GIS platforms).
  • Proficiency with SQL and at least one data-focused scripting language (Python or R).
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to data quality and reproducible workflows.
  • Clear written and verbal communication; ability to translate complex analyses into actionable recommendations for business partners.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in retail site selection, trade-area analysis, or real estate analytics.
  • Experience building dashboards (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and automating regular reporting.
  • Familiarity with spatial statistics, predictive modeling, or machine learning applied to location analytics.
  • Experience with large commercial data sources (demographics, consumer behavior, point-of-sale).

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $65,000 – $80,000 per year (Min–Mid). Actual pay will be based on experience, skills, and location.
  • Full-time, salaried position; hybrid work model.
