Real Estate Research Specialist
The Real Estate Research Specialist performs foundational research to validate land rights and property ownership, supporting infrastructure projects such as new construction and relocations. Key Responsibilities
Entry-level research role focused on validating land rights and supporting real estate document preparation for infrastructure projects.
- Perform title/ownership research; review engineering drawings, site plans and legal descriptions; prepare real estate documents; and stay current on applicable land law and regulations (≈80%).
- Coordinate with business partners, real estate representatives, other research specialists, and data management teams (≈10%).
- Submit land rights for indexing and map easements in GIS; maintain accurate data records (≈10%).
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Paralegal, Real Estate, Business, Political Science, Surveying & Topography, or a related field — OR HS/GED plus 3 years’ relevant experience.
- At least 1 year of related work experience.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel occasionally for onsite meetings.
- Ability to obtain a Notary Public commission within the first year.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred Skills & Nice-to-Haves
- Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certification.
- 2+ years’ relevant experience, especially title examination or surveying background.
- Familiarity with MS Office and GIS easement mapping.
- Knowledge of electric distribution/transmission systems is a plus.
- Strong communication, attention to detail, critical thinking, and self-motivation.
Employment Details
- Employment type: Full-time, professional-level, entry position.
- Work arrangement: Remote/telecommute with occasional onsite meetings after onboarding. Candidates must live within a reasonable commute of Plainfield, IN.
- Compensation: US$30.00 - US$33.00 per hour (hourly wage).
