About the Role

Confidential Client is seeking an early-career Radar Systems Engineer I to join the Advanced Products & Solutions (APS) Mission Area within the Systems Engineering Center. This onsite role in El Segundo, CA supports design, analysis, verification, integration, and test of advanced radar and early-warning sensor systems that directly support national defense missions. You will work with multi-disciplinary engineering teams across the product lifecycle and gain hands-on experience with modeling, algorithms, and hardware/software integration.


What You’ll Do

  • Support development, analysis, documentation, and verification of system requirements using tools such as DOORS.
  • Generate system CONOPS and contribute to system architecture definition.
  • Assist with radar mode requirement development and system performance assessments.
  • Conduct modeling, simulation, and data analysis using MATLAB, Python, and C++.
  • Participate in hardware/software integration, troubleshooting, and hands-on laboratory testing.
  • Support verification, validation, flight test, production, and post-deployment activities.
  • Perform trade studies, functional/physical analyses, and MBSE-based system design.
  • Prepare and present technical reports, findings, and briefings to internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

You must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or a related STEM field completed prior to start.
  • Academic or internship experience that demonstrates:
    • Hands-on testing of electronic equipment in labs.
    • Troubleshooting electronic or system-level issues.
    • Data analysis using MATLAB and/or C++.
    • Experience or exposure to algorithm design, requirements development, software/hardware integration, and configuration management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher preferred.
  • Coursework or project experience in Systems Engineering, radar fundamentals, or radar algorithm design.
  • Experience with DOORS or CAMEO for requirements management.
  • Programming experience in Java, C++, and/or Python.
  • Familiarity with signal processing, control theory, detection methods, imaging/pattern recognition, and data filtering (Kalman, batch, optimal estimation).
  • Coursework or experience with advanced statistics and MBSE practices.

Location & Clearance

  • This role is primarily onsite in El Segundo, California.
  • U.S. citizenship is required. Applicants must have an active and transferable U.S. government security clearance prior to start date or the ability to obtain an interim clearance as required. Security clearance type: DoD Secret (ability to obtain interim clearance required).

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range (good-faith estimate): $62,900 — $119,700 USD per year. Final offers consider role level, experience, location, education/training, and relevant skills.
