What You’ll Do

This role supports radar system evaluation and performance analysis for a confidential client in the Civil Engineering sector. You will analyze multi-source radar and telemetry data to surface performance trends, diagnose anomalies, and deliver clear, actionable insights to technical and mission stakeholders.

  • Ingest, parse, and evaluate structured data products from multiple radar and sensor systems using MATLAB and advanced Excel models
  • Define, maintain, and report on KPIs such as track initiation timelines, track continuity, false alarm/track ratios, positional accuracy, and solution-generation metrics
  • Perform exploratory data analysis and trend evaluation across test configurations, operational scenarios, and environmental conditions
  • Dive into raw telemetry and tracking data to investigate root causes of unexpected track behavior or discrepancies between expected and observed performance
  • Build and maintain reproducible data parsing routines, analysis scripts, and standardized reporting workflows
  • Create visually compelling graphs, dashboards, and executive-level briefing decks that synthesize technical results for varied audiences
  • Collaborate closely with radar subject matter experts, systems engineers, and government stakeholders to recommend system refinements and performance optimizations
  • Present findings and recommendations in regular briefings to project leads and mission stakeholders

Minimum Qualifications

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Data Analytics, or a related technical discipline
  • 2+ years of experience performing data analysis, trend identification, or performance evaluation on complex technical datasets
  • Proficiency with MATLAB for data wrangling, mathematical analysis, and visualization
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (complex formulas, PivotTables, data modeling, charts)
  • Strong analytical mindset with meticulous data organization and documentation habits
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; experience preparing presentation decks and briefing technical results
  • Active Secret security clearance or the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance

Preferred Skills

  • Coursework or experience in radar fundamentals, digital signal processing (DSP), RF principles, or target tracking/Kalman filtering
  • Experience handling DoD test-range telemetry formats, mission data logs, or multi-sensor tracking data products
  • Scripting experience in Python (pandas, NumPy, matplotlib, seaborn)
  • Experience developing automated reporting templates or standardized dashboards for technical leadership

Location, Employment Type & Compensation

  • Location: Aberdeen, MD
  • Employment type: Full-time
  • Salary range (as provided by the confidential client): $74,800 - $130,900 per year

Security & Clearance

This position requires an active Secret security clearance. Candidates must either hold an active Secret clearance or be eligible to obtain one through the Department of Defense process.
