Position Overview

This Contract, on-site Quality Technician role in O Fallon, IL (Monday–Friday, 11:00 AM–8:00 PM) provides hands-on laboratory and quality assurance experience within a food manufacturing environment. You will perform routine analytical and basic microbiological testing, support product quality investigations, and work closely with production teams to ensure food safety and product consistency.


What You’ll Do

  • Collect product and in-process samples from production areas and prepare them for laboratory testing
  • Perform routine analytical tests, including pH analysis, wet chemistry, and basic microbiological assays
  • Use laboratory tools and proper pipetting techniques to produce accurate, reproducible results
  • Record, organize, and maintain testing data according to quality and regulatory requirements
  • Verify finished products meet established quality, safety, and specification standards
  • Participate in sensory evaluations and product assessments when needed
  • Support quality investigations and assist troubleshooting product quality issues
  • Maintain a clean, audit-ready lab and follow safety, sanitation, and SOP requirements
  • Collaborate with production teams and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

Required Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate data/documentation
  • Ability to follow written procedures and standard operating procedures
  • Comfortable working in both laboratory and manufacturing (production floor) settings
  • Effective verbal communication and teamwork skills
  • Willingness to learn laboratory techniques and food quality systems
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt in a fast-paced production environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Food Science, Microbiology, or related science
  • Previous laboratory, QA/QC, or food manufacturing experience
  • Familiarity with pH testing, wet chemistry, microbiological testing, and sample preparation
  • Experience using lab equipment and solid pipetting technique
  • Knowledge of food safety programs and regulatory standards

Schedule & Location

  • Typical schedule: Monday–Friday, 11:00 AM–8:00 PM (flexibility preferred)

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay: $22.00 per hour (Contract). Final pay offers depend on experience and qualifications.
