Confidential Client is seeking a hands-on Quality Technician to support microbiology and quality activities at a production laboratory in Saint Louis, MO. What You’ll Do
You will perform routine microbiology testing and laboratory support tasks to evaluate raw materials, finished products, stability samples, water, and environmental monitoring. Responsibilities include:
- Follow good documentation practices and maintain accurate, timely records
- Receive and prepare media, reagents, and solutions for lab use
- Run and monitor autoclave cycles
- Create samples and enter/send results in LIMS
- Perform water testing (purified & DI water) and water sampling across production areas
- Conduct product bioburden testing on incoming materials, swabs, and finished products
- Perform environmental monitoring in production areas
- Run microbial limits testing per USP <61> and <62>
- Perform endotoxin testing using kinetic methods
- Prepare and peer-review work; assist with routine housekeeping and lab readiness
- Maintain instrument readiness (analytical balance, pH meter, TOC, kinetic turbidimetric analyzers)
- Order lab supplies and manage shipping/receiving for lab materials
- Follow site HSE, GMP policies, and participate in GMP walkthroughs
Qualifications
Minimum required:
- Bachelor’s degree in a science field (Chemistry, Microbiology, Biology) or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Basic understanding of microbiology principles and aseptic technique
- Familiarity with laboratory instrumentation and basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, LIMS entry)
- Willingness to follow cGMP and HSE procedures in a regulated environment
Preferred:
- Prior experience in a cGMP manufacturing or QA/QC lab
- Experience with bioburden, endotoxin, environmental monitoring, and USP testing
- Hands-on use of analytical balance, pH meter, TOC analyzer, autoclave, and turbidimetric analyzers

- Strong organization, attention to detail, and documentation discipline
- Customer focus, good communication, and ability to work with cross-functional teams (R&D, Production, Safety, Logistics)
- Comfortable with peer review processes and interaction with supervisors and management
Work Schedule & Conditions
- Full-time, typically 8-hour shifts; may include nights, weekends, or holidays depending on lab needs
- Approximately 80% laboratory exposure (plant products, solvents, reagents); 20% office work
- The role requires adherence to safety procedures when handling hazardous or potent compounds
Compensation & Benefits
