Position Overview

Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Quality Specialist to support quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) activities on transportation and heavy-civil projects in the South Central region. This field- or shop-based role coordinates inspections and tests, documents results, supports supplier and receiving inspections, and communicates quality status to project teams. You will work closely with operations and project leads to ensure work meets contract requirements, codes, and standards.


Responsibilities

  • Understand project scope, quality requirements, and applicable quality plans
  • Coordinate inspections and tests to align with project schedules and production goals
  • Perform and/or witness quality control inspections and tests as required
  • Prepare, maintain, and distribute inspection/test reports and quality records
  • Review and approve inspection and test results for compliance with contract documents, codes, and standards
  • Manage source and receiving inspections for permanent materials and equipment
  • Evaluate supplier quality documentation for contract compliance
  • Collaborate with operations to develop work packs and identify required inspections, tests, and documentation
  • Verify readiness of work packs prior to pre-activity meetings and construction execution
  • Monitor and forecast costs for third-party inspection and testing services and report trends to management
  • Address client quality concerns and maintain transparent communication with project stakeholders

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Welding Technology, or a related field (0–2 years of experience)
  • Familiarity with construction-related quality control procedures preferred
  • Certifications such as ASQ, CQM, CQA, or CWI are a plus
  • Working knowledge of trades, inspection and testing techniques preferred
  • Highly motivated with strong initiative and a commitment to quality and safety
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and time-management ability
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams
  • Willingness to travel and relocate based on project needs
  • Regular, reliable attendance and ability to work overtime/weekends as required

Location & Travel

This position is based in Villa Nueva, TX and supports projects across the South Central region and broader North America. Candidates must be willing to relocate and travel as project assignments require.
