What You’ll Do

Confidential client is seeking a Quality Specialist 1 to support project-level quality activities on construction projects in Houston, TX. This entry-level position helps monitor and coordinate the project quality program, review documents, attend meetings, and perform site walk-throughs under supervision.

  • Learns and follows the company safety and quality plans; models an injury-free mindset
  • Participates in project-specific quality plans and water-intrusion plans
  • Performs routine walk-through inspections to confirm work aligns with contract documents, manufacturers’ instructions and industry standards
  • Documents quality assurance activities, test results and corrective actions in internal QA systems
  • Collaborates with suppliers to help maintain incoming material quality standards
  • Supports constructability reviews and learns to interpret design documents to identify potential quality issues
  • Prepares basic reports for superintendents, project managers and subcontractors about compliant and non-compliant conditions
  • May help schedule/witness third-party inspections and verification testing under supervision
  • Coordinates with internal teams (VDC, Quality Group, Safety, Offsite Prefab, Self-Perform) as needed

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, construction management, or a related field (required), or equivalent relevant experience
  • 0–2 years of construction experience or internship/co‑op experience (preferred)
  • Ability to read and understand plans, drawings and specifications
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality work on schedule
  • Proficiency with MS Office and basic construction management tools/software
  • Problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills; clear verbal and written communication
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours and travel overnight when project needs require
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and perform frequent standing/walking on job sites

Compensation & Benefits

  • Estimated salary: $76,122 per year (estimated)
  • Benefits package: Professional Non‑Union offering standard medical, retirement and paid time-off benefits; specific plan details provided to candidates

  • Work is performed in a mix of office and active construction sites — candidates should expect exposure to varying weather and site conditions
