Quality & Safety Outcomes Coordinator
The Quality and Safety Outcomes Coordinator supports performance improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and quality outcomes at Confidential Client. This entry-level role involves data collection, analysis, and collaboration across disciplines to identify safety risks and implement improvement projects aligned with organizational goals. The position requires foundational skills in safety science, quality measurement, and project management to promote a culture of safety and compliance.

Responsibilities
- Support performance improvement initiatives under the direction of the Quality & Safety Manager to maintain accreditation, regulatory compliance, and facility-level certifications.
- Build collaborative relationships across disciplines to identify and respond to safety risks and improvement opportunities.
- Collect, validate, analyze, and interpret data from incident reports, registries, and other sources to monitor performance and recommend improvements.
- Prepare and submit internal and publicly reported quality and safety metrics in a timely manner.
- Apply basic safety science and process improvement methods (PDCA cycles, A3 problem solving) to small-scale projects.
- Facilitate interdisciplinary performance improvement teams to meet unit- or metric-specific goals.
- Educate staff and stakeholders on quality improvement basics, safety culture, and the importance of reporting hazardous conditions.
- Participate in local, regional, and national patient and employee safety educational events.
- Complete special projects and perform assigned professional/technical competencies for the unit or department.
- Escalate concerns appropriately while demonstrating independent problem-solving where appropriate.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Bachelor’s degree in Arts, Science, Nursing, or equivalent (Registered Nurse license in Kansas and/or Missouri may be required depending on assignment).
- 2+ years of experience in the healthcare industry.
- Licensed Registered Nurse (multi-state) when the role requires clinical licensure — State Board of Nursing registration in Kansas and/or Missouri may be required, as appropriate.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS/BCLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
Preferred Skills & Competencies
- Familiarity with quality measurement, patient safety concepts, and high reliability organization principles.
- Comfort using PDCA cycles and A3 problem solving for process improvement.
- Experience with healthcare data collection, validation, and reporting.
- Strong communication and facilitation skills for interdisciplinary work.
- Basic project management and prioritization skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to escalate issues when needed.
