Responsibilities

The Confidential Client is seeking a Quality Inspector to perform receiving and in-process inspections in a regulated manufacturing environment. This contract-to-hire role requires precise dimensional measurement, document control, and consistent use of electronic quality systems.

  • Perform receiving inspections by pulling parts from inventory and checking whether the lot number has already been inspected to avoid duplicate paperwork.
  • Review engineering drawings and inspection check sheets to confirm required certifications and that processes match blueprint instructions.
  • Measure parts using calipers, rules, micrometers, and radius gauges to ensure dimensions meet blueprint specifications prior to inventory posting.
  • Verify that part dimensions and certifications meet blueprint and quality standards.
  • Create, complete, and maintain in-process (WIP) inspection reports electronically and in handwritten form as required.
  • Use Oracle or similar ERP systems to process non-conformances and complete discrepancy documentation.
  • Inspect work-in-process parts to confirm compliance with prints and work orders; report deviations promptly.
  • Calibrate gauges and test equipment per schedule and document calibration activities.
  • Rotate between work-in-process and receiving inspections according to assigned schedules and team priorities.
  • Follow inspection priorities set by planning or by inspecting the oldest receiving inventory to maintain throughput.
  • Use basic computer skills to enter, update, and retrieve inspection and quality data.
  • Collaborate with the quality team to address findings and support continuous compliance with quality procedures.

Essential Skills

  • Entry-level up to 2–3 years experience in quality or quality assurance roles (open to recent technical school or military separations).
  • Hands-on experience with calipers, rules, micrometers, and radius gauges for dimensional inspection.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and inspection check sheets.
  • Basic computer literacy for data entry and electronic inspection records.
  • Experience with Oracle or other ERP systems for non-conformance and quality data handling preferred.
  • High school diploma required; technical certificates or associate/ bachelor’s degrees are a plus.
  • Comfortable working in highly regulated environments such as aerospace, medical device, GMP, or automotive.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Aerospace industry experience preferred; knowledge of military rivet specifications is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in measurement and documentation.
  • Comfortable following calibration schedules and maintaining calibrated gauges and test equipment.
  • Recent technical school graduates and recently separated military personnel are encouraged to apply.
  • Prior experience in regulated manufacturing and familiarity with quality standards and improvement processes.

Work Environment & Schedule

This is an onsite role in a manufacturing inspection area. The quality team includes technicians, an engineer, and a quality lead who coordinates specialty inspections and assigns workflow. Inspections rotate between WIP and receiving (may alternate monthly). Typical schedule is four 10-hour shifts per week (commonly Mon–Thu or Tue–Fri), with standard hours approximately 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and some flexibility to shift earlier (e.g., 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.). All precision measuring instruments and calibrated gauges are supplied.


Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based in Clarkson Valley, MO. Employment classification: Contract / Full-time.


Pay and Benefits

  • Pay range: $22.00 - $23.00 per hour.
  • Actual compensation offered will depend on qualifications, experience, job knowledge, and other job-related factors.
