Position Overview

Confidential Client is seeking a Quality Engineer for a 12-month W2 contract assignment at their Waterloo, IA facility. This is an on-site, shop-floor role working first shift. The engagement is ideal for recent graduates with manufacturing internships or early-career engineers who are comfortable spending most of their time on the factory floor.

What You’ll Do

• Support day-to-day quality activities on the shop floor to ensure product and process compliance
• Execute and document inspections, tests, and quality checks per work instructions
• Identify non-conformances and work with production teams to implement corrective actions
• Collect and analyze basic quality data to support continuous improvement efforts
• Communicate issues clearly to supervisors and cross-functional teams
• Contribute to root-cause analysis and help implement process improvements

Qualifications (Required)

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited U.S. university in Technology, Engineering, Communications, Business, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field
• Comfortable working on a manufacturing shop floor (expected ~80% time on your feet)
• Open to recent graduates with relevant manufacturing internships
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated willingness to learn and take direction

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior hands-on manufacturing or quality assurance experience (internships or entry-level roles)
• Familiarity with basic inspection tools and quality documentation practices
• Ability to work overtime when required at shift end

Logistics & Compensation

• Location: Waterloo, IA (on-site)
• Duration: 12 months (possible extension)
• Schedule: 1st shift, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM; overtime may be scheduled at shift end
• Pay: $32.00 – $35.00 per hour (W2)
• Employment type: Contract (W2)
• Visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future for this role
