What You’ll Do
The Quality Engineer I will support product and process quality activities for a confidential client in the Engineering industry. This is a 12‑month temporary, onsite assignment in Parsippany Troy Hills, NJ. The role is entry level and focuses on inspection, testing, documentation, supplier support, and continuous improvement to ensure product conformance to requirements and applicable standards.
- Support audits, inspections, and product testing to verify conformity to specifications.
- Help develop procedures, specifications, and standards for products and manufacturing processes.
- Collect, analyze, and report data from gauges and measurement systems for product and process evaluation.
- Support corrective and preventive action (CAPA) implementation and follow-up.
- Assist in identifying required personnel, gauges, procedures, and materials for new product launches.
- Coordinate with suppliers to confirm they have required information and capabilities to meet quality requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Supplier Quality) to support product compliance and continuous improvement.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or alternative bachelor’s degree plus relevant quality certification).
- Basic knowledge of blueprint reading and geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T).
- Familiarity with QSR/ISO quality systems, design assurance concepts, FMEA fundamentals, and product testing methodologies.
- Experience using measurement and inspection tools (for example, optical comparators and coordinate measuring machines - CMMs) or demonstrable aptitude to learn.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work across teams.
- Ability to meet deadlines and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred / Nice to Have
- Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or working toward CQE certification.
- Prior experience in the medical device or orthopedic industry.
- Hands‑on experience with gauge R&R, statistical data analysis, and basic quality engineering tools.
