What You’ll Do
This Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Quality Engineer (Quality Engineer I) to provide hands-on quality engineering support in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will work with production teams to prevent, detect, and resolve quality issues while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide daily quality engineering support to manufacturing operations.
- Monitor production processes for compliance with procedures and quality requirements.
- Support containment, disposition, and resolution of nonconforming material.
- Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) activities.
- Investigate internal and customer-reported quality issues and perform root cause analysis.
- Support implementation and verification of corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
- Track assigned quality actions to timely completion and report status to stakeholders.
- Analyze production and quality data to identify trends, defects, and improvement opportunities.
- Assist with error-proofing (Poka-Yoke), process control implementation, and Kaizen events.
- Collect and prepare quality performance metrics and present data-driven recommendations.
- Support supplier quality investigations, incoming inspection, and supplier performance monitoring.
- Maintain accurate quality records, documentation, and support internal audits.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 1–2 years of engineering, manufacturing, or quality experience (internship/co-op experience is relevant).
- Understanding of quality engineering and manufacturing principles.
- Familiarity with root cause analysis and structured problem-solving (5 Whys, Fishbone).
- Experience with quality tools: FMEA, Pareto, control charts, SPC.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with Power BI and other Office applications.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to present data to cross-functional teams.
- Strong organizational and project-management capabilities and the ability to work in a fast-paced shop environment.
Preferred / Nice to Have
- Internship or co-op manufacturing experience.
- ISO 9001 Quality Management System exposure.
- Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC), Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma methods.
- Experience with ERP or quality management systems.
- ASQ certification or willingness to pursue certification.
Compensation
- Pay Range: $30.00 per hour – $40.50 per hour (hourly, non-exempt). Actual pay offered may vary based on experience and location and will comply with applicable laws.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to carry, lift, push/pull up to 30 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Ability to see, hear, speak, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, grasp, sit, stand, and walk.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing setting and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
