What You’ll Do

This position supports a confidential client’s manufacturing operations by owning and maintaining product quality documentation and supporting engineering changes. Key responsibilities include:

  • Own and maintain part-specific Control Plans to reflect current processes and customer requirements.
  • Monitor Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), Process Change Notices (PCNs), and link changes to PPAP submissions.
  • Evaluate quality impact of engineering changes and initiate or update PPAP requests as needed.
  • Maintain and verify Design Records so the most recent documentation is captured for production and PPAP.
  • Coordinate and complete Appearance Approval Reports (AARs) to ensure aesthetic and branding requirements are met.
  • Ensure Control Plans align with PFMEA, process flows, and manufacturing practices.
  • Communicate changes and maintain traceability across cross-functional teams (NPI, NSI, CPI).
  • Edit and maintain documentation in the document management system and support internal audits or customer reviews.

Qualifications

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related preferred).
  • Experience:
    • 2+ years in a quality or manufacturing engineering role (entry-level with relevant internship/co-op experience considered).
    • Experience in machining or regulated manufacturing environments is a plus.
  • Technical skills:
    • Strong knowledge of Control Plans, PPAP, ECN/ECR processes, and design document revision control.
    • Blueprint reading and familiarity with AIAG standards and customer-specific requirements.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office and document management systems.
  • Soft skills:
    • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
    • Effective verbal and written communication; ability to collaborate across functions.
    • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Location, Type & Compensation

  • Location: Holmes, IL (on-site / local to Peoria area).
  • Employment type: Full-time.
  • Base pay: $50,000 - $60,000 per year (as provided by the confidential client).
  • Key performance indicators: accuracy/timeliness of Control Plan updates, ECN implementation effectiveness, PPAP cycle time and approval rate, and design record revision control.
