Role Overview

The Confidential Client is hiring a Quality Engineer to support manufacturing and fabrication projects in Groveland, ID. This role works inside a fabrication shop environment on projects that may include government contracts and regulated quality programs. The position is open to entry-level through experienced candidates who want hands-on growth and responsibility for product quality, inspection, and compliance.

What You’ll Do

• Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T callouts to create and execute inspection plans
• Implement, maintain, and improve quality assurance programs and inspection processes
• Review and approve inspection reports and test logs; ensure documentation meets project and regulatory requirements
• Identify nonconformities and coordinate corrective actions with project managers and shop teams
• Train and mentor other quality staff and support cross-functional quality activities
• Track project performance and budgets; prepare internal bi-weekly financial reports and profit projections
• Assist with project planning, estimating, and quality input during bid/proposal phases
• Support customer and regulatory audits as required
• Follow site safety practices and wear required PPE

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) in engineering, quality, or related field — OR 1–5 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Practical experience reading blueprints, engineering drawings, and applying GD&T
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to prepare letters, reports, and technical documentation
• Ability to work on-site regularly; perform inspections and lift up to 50 lbs
• Must pass background check, employment verification, and drug screening
• Due to government contract requirements, applicants must be U.S. citizens

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with NQA-1, ISO quality systems, and/or DOE Order 414.1D
• Familiarity with B31.1 / B31.3, ASME Section III or VIII, and AISC quality programs
• Prior work in a fabrication shop or industrial manufacturing environment
• Experience training others and supporting cross-functional teams

Physical Demands & Work Environment

• Work is performed in a fabrication shop setting; PPE (safety glasses, hearing protection, work boots) is required
• Role requires frequent walking, standing, bending, and occasional lifting (up to 50 lbs)
• Work may occur in hot or cold environments and under production deadlines with an emphasis on safety, quality, and precision

Compensation & Benefits

Estimated pay (per source): $80,952 per year (estimated). Actual compensation will be confirmed by the Confidential Client during hiring.
