Responsibilities
The Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Quality Engineer to join their engineering team in Birmingham, AL. This role works under the guidance of more experienced engineers and contributes to design, manufacturing, and customer support activities.
- Learn product lines, systems, processes, and rules relevant to engineering roles
- Apply fundamental engineering concepts and formal training to deliver high-quality work
- Support Operations, Sales, Service, Suppliers, and Customers on technical issues
- Participate on cross-functional projects of varying scope
- Apply Lean principles to improve products and processes
- Communicate technical specifications and product operation to internal and external stakeholders
- Work across departments as assigned to grow skills and knowledge
- Operate with appropriate entry-level decision-making within assigned scope
Qualifications
- ABET EAC‑accredited Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a Master’s Degree in Engineering
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Able to work effectively in teams and with minimal supervision
- Extremely detail oriented and committed to quality
- Customer-service mindset; motivated and goal oriented
- Able to manage deadlines and maintain confidentiality
- Willingness to travel up to 25%, potentially on short notice (may include air travel)
- Experience or interest in Lean/continuous improvement is a plus
