Laboratory Technician
The Manufacturing Associate is responsible for producing human blood-derived components in a controlled cGMP cleanroom environment, adhering to regulatory standards and SOPs. This role involves aseptic processing, production scheduling, data recording, and teamwork within a shift-based manufacturing setting, ensuring quality and compliance throughout the production process.

What You’ll Do
Manufacturing in a controlled, cGMP cleanroom environment to produce human blood‑derived components according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Work as part of a production team on assigned shift schedules and support quality processes and investigations as needed.
- Production of blood component lots through cell culture, harvest, and cryopreservation
- Perform aseptic tasks including tubing welding, connections, and transfers
- Weigh and measure in‑process materials to ensure correct quantities
- Execute production tasks to meet assigned schedules and internal logistics
- Record production data clearly and in accordance with GDPs and SOPs
- Raise and communicate production deviations; assist with quality investigations
- Work collaboratively in cross‑functional teams; support other manufacturing tasks as assigned
Training & Schedule
Training will vary by business needs and may last 1–6 weeks. Candidates must maintain full availability with no planned leave during training.
- Initial training: typically Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM for 1–2 weeks (subject to change)
- After training: transition to assigned quad (rotating) shift schedule
Required Competencies
- Basic understanding of cell culture, cryopreservation, purification, and aseptic processing or comparable lab techniques
- Knowledge of cGMP and FDA‑regulated manufacturing environments
- Basic math skills and general understanding of GDPs/cGMPs
- Technical writing capability and accurate recordkeeping
- Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word)
- Educational or experiential background in biology, chemistry, medical, or clinical practices
- Entry‑level role — attention to detail and strong teamwork required
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree OR Associate/Medical Technical degree with 2 years manufacturing/operations experience; OR
- High school diploma/GED with 4 years manufacturing/operations experience
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
This position requires working in a GMP clean room environment with required gowning for extended periods (up to ~6 hours). During active processing, breaks may not be permitted.
- Intermittent walking and sitting; may require prolonged standing
- Physical dexterity for computer and documentation tasks
- Sufficient vision and hearing for safe work in the environment
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
- Work around laboratories, controlled/restricted areas, reagents, chemicals, and sanitization agents
- Routine exposure to human blood components
- Cleanroom gowning and PPE required; makeup, gum, nail polish, and personal electronic devices may be restricted in designated areas
