What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is hiring Quality Control Technicians to support ready-mix concrete production and ensure product quality for commercial, residential, and infrastructure projects. This is a hands-on role with training available for entry-level candidates.
- Perform routine and non-routine testing of raw materials, in-process mixes, and finished ready mix concrete using industry-standard methods (e.g., slump, unit weight, temperature, air content, compressive strength sampling).
- Interpret laboratory and field test results and compare to established specifications and control limits.
- Conduct visual inspections of concrete products and materials to verify quality and conformance.
- Work with production and operations teams to troubleshoot and resolve quality issues.
- Maintain accurate, timely records of tests, analyses, and quality-related activities.
- Deliver quality-control guidance or training to production staff when directed by technical services or management.
- Monitor industry standards, technologies, and regulatory requirements and recommend process improvements.
Minimum Qualifications
- Willingness to work variable shifts based on scheduled pours, including day and overnight work.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication; able to work independently and in teams.
- Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office); familiarity with quality-management software is a plus.
- Willingness to complete required pre-employment screenings.
Preferred / Helpful Qualifications
- ACI (American Concrete Institute) certification, or willingness to obtain it.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Concrete Management, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Previous experience in quality control, quality assurance, construction materials, or concrete testing is a plus.
- Entry-level candidates with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.
Work Environment & Schedule
- On-site, field, and laboratory work at plant and jobsite locations.
- Variable shift schedule to support scheduled pours; technicians typically return home after shifts. No Sunday shifts may be offered in some locations.
- Role requires safe handling of materials and compliance with plant safety procedures.
Compensation & Benefits
- Estimated pay: $49,618 per year (estimated) — actual pay may vary by location and experience.
- Hourly pay with overtime eligibility, plus potential bonuses and annual raises.
