Role Overview
The Confidential Client is hiring a Quality Control Technician for a fully on-site, entry-level role in North Richmond, CA. This position supports complaint investigations for blood glucose meters, strips, and sensors by unpacking and processing returned products, performing routine lab and functional tests, documenting findings in the Complaint Handling System, and supporting timely complaint closures in accordance with ISO and FDA quality system requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Unpack boxes safely and sort returned products by product line.
- Investigate returned blood glucose meters, strips, and sensors to identify the cause of customer complaints.
- Perform routine physical, chemical, and functional testing on returned products.
- Operate troubleshooting and lab equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, test fixtures, microscopes, etc.) to collect test data.
- Accurately summarize, record, and maintain all test data and laboratory documentation.
- Enter investigation results and test data into electronic complaint and tracking systems with high accuracy.
- Maintain calibration and validity records for test equipment and perform routine maintenance of quality records.
- Follow written work instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs) precisely.
- Support organizational goals for timeliness of complaint investigations and closures.
- Collaborate with teammates to resolve issues and suggest process improvements.
- Communicate investigation findings clearly in writing and verbally.
Essential Skills
- Experience or interest in the medical device or biotech industry preferred.
- Knowledge of GMP practices and quality control principles in a regulated environment.
- Strong documentation skills and attention to detail for accurate data entry and recordkeeping.
- Comfortable using lab and troubleshooting equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, microscopes, test fixtures).
- Ability to follow SOPs and written work instructions consistently.
- Good computer skills and familiarity with electronic data systems.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to sustain concentration when performing repetitive or routine investigative tasks.
Additional Qualifications
- Associate degree in Biomedical Science or a related scientific discipline is a plus.
- Recent graduates with a bachelor’s in a relevant technical or scientific field are encouraged to apply.
- Familiarity with ISO and FDA Quality System requirements is beneficial.
- Ability to work well in a team and support quality-focused production environments.
Work Environment
This is a fully on-site role at a manufacturing/controlled facility in North Richmond, CA. The work requires standing for extended periods and may involve lifting materials or boxes approximately 25–40 pounds. Employees are expected to follow all facility safety, quality, and PPE protocols while working with laboratory and electronic test equipment.

Pay & Benefits
- Pay range: $27.00 - $33.00 per hour (actual compensation dependent on experience and qualifications).
