What You’ll Do

Are you detail-oriented and ready to build a career in quality control for ready-mix concrete? As a Quality Control Technician for our confidential client, you’ll help ensure product quality for commercial, residential, and infrastructure projects through testing, inspection, and collaboration with production teams.

  • Perform routine and non-routine testing of raw materials, in-process material, and finished ready-mix concrete using industry-standard test methods.
  • Interpret test data and compare results to specifications and control limits.
  • Conduct visual inspections of concrete products and materials to confirm compliance with quality standards.
  • Collaborate with production and operations to diagnose and resolve quality issues quickly.
  • Provide on-the-job quality control training to production staff as directed by management or technical services.
  • Maintain accurate records of tests, analyses, and quality activities.
  • Keep current with industry standards, technologies, and regulatory requirements to continually improve QC processes.

Qualifications

  • Willingness to work variable shifts based on scheduled pours (day and overnight shifts required at times).
  • Entry-level candidates encouraged — on-the-job training provided.
  • ACI certification is a plus, or willingness to obtain it.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Concrete Management, Construction Management, or related field preferred but not required.
  • Previous experience in quality control, quality assurance, or with construction materials is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication; ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office); familiarity with quality management software is helpful.
  • Willingness to complete the confidential client’s pre-employment screenings.

Schedule & Location

  • Location: Leighton / Saragossa area, AL (local to the plant).
  • Schedule: Variable shift coverage aligned with production — includes day and occasional overnight shifts. Technicians are typically home after each shift; no Sunday shifts noted.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Estimated pay: $52,524 per year (estimated annualized figure based on hourly pay). Pay is hourly with overtime after 8 hours.
