What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is hiring Quality Control Technicians to perform concrete quality assurance and materials testing at their Indianapolis-area ready-mix operations. This role is hands-on and ideal for candidates who want on-the-job training and career progression in construction materials.

  • Perform routine and non-routine testing of raw materials, in-process batches, and finished ready-mix concrete using industry-standard methods (slump, air content, compressive strength sampling, cylinder casting, unit weight, etc.).
  • Record, interpret, and report test results against specifications and control limits; recommend adjustments when required.
  • Conduct visual inspections and documentation to ensure product conformity to mix designs and quality standards.
  • Partner with production and operations teams to investigate and resolve quality issues quickly and safely.
  • Maintain accurate QC logs, test records, and chain-of-custody documentation.
  • Provide quality-control coaching or training to production staff as directed.
  • Keep current with industry best practices, ACI methods, and regulatory requirements to continuously improve processes.

Who You Are — Qualifications

We encourage entry-level candidates to apply; training is provided. The ideal candidate demonstrates attention to detail, reliability, and a commitment to safety and quality.

  • Willingness to work variable shifts based on scheduled pours, including day and overnight shifts.
  • Entry-level candidates welcome — on-the-job training provided.
  • ACI certification is a plus or willingness to obtain ACI credentials.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Concrete Management, Construction Management, or a related field preferred but not required.
  • Previous experience in quality control, quality assurance, or construction materials is helpful but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Clear communication and effective teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments.
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office); experience with quality management software is a plus.
  • Ability to complete standard pre-employment screenings.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Estimated annual pay: $54,260 (based on current job data).
  • Hourly pay with overtime after 8 hours; eligibility for bonuses and annual raises.

  • Schedule: Variable shifts tied to pour schedules; day and overnight shifts required at times.
