What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is hiring a Quality Control Technician for ready-mix concrete operations. In this hands-on role you will:
- Perform routine and non-routine testing of raw materials, in-process mixes, and finished ready-mix concrete using industry-standard methods.
- Interpret test results and compare outcomes against established specifications and control limits.
- Conduct visual inspections of concrete products and document compliance with quality standards.
- Collaborate with production and operations teams to troubleshoot and resolve quality issues quickly.
- Deliver basic quality-control training and coaching to production staff as directed.
- Maintain accurate, auditable records of tests, analyses, and quality-related activities.
- Monitor industry trends, technologies, and regulations to recommend process improvements.
Qualifications
We welcome entry-level applicants and experienced candidates. Typical qualifications include:
- Willingness to work variable shifts based on scheduled pours, including day and overnight shifts.
- Entry-level candidates encouraged — on-the-job training provided.
- ACI certification is a plus, or willingness to obtain certification.
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Concrete Management, Construction Management, or related field preferred but not required.
- Previous experience in quality control, quality assurance, or construction materials is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication; ability to work independently and in teams.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office); experience with quality-management software is a plus.
- Willingness to complete pre-employment screenings required by Confidential Client.
Schedule & Location
- Location: Indian Creek, TX (on-site role supporting local ready-mix operations).
- Shift flexibility required to support scheduled pours; Confidential Client maintains consistent local work and no Sunday shifts for technical staff.
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly pay with overtime after 8 hours (competitive local pay).
