What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is hiring a Quality Control Technician to perform hands-on testing and inspection of ready-mix concrete and related materials to ensure product quality and compliance with specifications.

  • Perform routine and non-routine testing of raw materials, in-process mixes, and finished ready-mix concrete using industry-standard methods (slump, air content, unit weight, compressive strength sampling, etc.).
  • Interpret test results and compare them to specifications and control limits; document and report non-conformances.
  • Conduct visual inspections of concrete products and mixes for compliance with quality standards.
  • Collaborate with production and operations teams to diagnose and resolve quality issues at the plant level.
  • Maintain accurate, organized records of tests, analyses, and quality-related activities.
  • Deliver quality-control guidance and on-the-job training to production staff as directed.
  • Monitor changes in materials, processes, and regulations and recommend process improvements.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Willingness to work variable shifts based on scheduled pours (day and overnight shifts).
  • Entry-level candidates encouraged — on-the-job training will be provided.
  • Strong attention to detail and basic analytical skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication and ability to work well on a team.
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office); familiarity with quality management systems a plus.
  • Willingness to complete pre-employment screenings.

Preferred Qualifications

  • ACI concrete testing certification or willingness to obtain ACI certification.
  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Concrete Management, Construction Management, or related field is preferred but not required.
  • Prior experience in quality control, quality assurance, or construction materials testing is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Estimated pay: $69,301 per year (estimated).
  • Hourly pay with overtime after 8 hours, plus eligibility for bonuses and annual raises.
  • Benefits include low-cost medical, dental, vision, STD, LTD, and life insurance; paid holidays; PTO/vacation; 401(k) with employer match; and company family days.
  • Consistent local work schedule with no Sunday shifts; technicians are typically home after every shift.
