Position overview

Confidential Client is hiring Quality Control Technicians for ready-mix concrete operations in Cockrell Hill (Dallas), TX. This role supports production and technical teams to ensure mixes meet project specifications and industry standards. Entry-level candidates are encouraged — training is provided.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform routine and non-routine testing of raw materials, in-process mixes, and finished ready-mix concrete using industry-standard methods (slump, air content, unit weight, compressive strength sampling, etc.)
  • Interpret test results and compare to specifications and control limits; document findings
  • Conduct visual inspections of concrete products and batch operations for quality and compliance
  • Collaborate with production and operations to troubleshoot and resolve quality issues quickly
  • Deliver basic quality control training to production staff as directed
  • Maintain accurate records of tests, analyses, and quality-related activities in logs or software
  • Monitor changes in standards, technologies, and regulations and recommend process improvements

Minimum qualifications

  • Willingness to work variable shifts tied to scheduled pours (day and overnight as needed)
  • Strong attention to detail and basic analytical skills
  • Effective verbal communication and teamwork abilities
  • Ability to work independently in the field and around production equipment
  • Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office); ability to enter and maintain test records
  • Willingness to complete the confidential client's pre-employment screenings

Preferred qualifications

  • ACI concrete testing certification or willingness to obtain it
  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Concrete/Construction Management, or related field (preferred, not required)
  • Previous quality control, QA, or construction materials experience is a plus
  • Experience with quality management software or lab recordkeeping

Schedule & work environment

  • Shift-based schedule tied to pours — may include overnight shifts; technicians are local and typically home after each shift
  • No Sunday shifts (facility closed on Sundays)
  • Hands-on work around production equipment and job-site deliveries; suitable PPE required

Compensation & benefits

  • Estimated hourly/yearly pay: $56,218 per year (estimated). Overtime per applicable law (overtime after 8 hours as described by the confidential client)
