Overview
Confidential Client (internal agency opportunity) is seeking a Quality Control Analyst to join the Insurance Agent & Agency Services division, Bureau of Investigation in Tallahassee, FL. This is an internal agency employment opportunity for current employees (including OPS) of the Department of Financial Services, the Office of Financial Regulation, and the Office of Insurance Regulation.
This role focuses on auditing investigative case files for legal sufficiency, ensuring high-quality written work, analyzing investigative reports, and supporting settlement and training activities to improve investigative outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Audit investigative files submitted for possible administrative action to determine legal sufficiency.
- Review reports and files for correct format, completeness, and proper writing techniques.
- Analyze investigative findings for accuracy, thoroughness, and compliance with investigative procedures.
- Track outstanding Settlement Stipulation Agreements and manage processing of returned agreements.
- Confer with subjects of investigations or their legal representatives to negotiate settlement terms when applicable.
- Determine which files are ready for submission to the Office of the General Counsel and which require additional investigative work or corrections.
- Provide training and constructive feedback to investigators to improve report quality and team effectiveness.
- Participate in workshops, conference calls, and training to maintain knowledge of statutes, rules, policies and procedures related to insurance.
- Support disaster response operations by coordinating canvassing efforts and assisting policyholders in expediting claims and accessing aid.
- Perform related duties as required.
Minimum Required Qualifications
- One (1) year of insurance‑related professional work experience. A post‑secondary degree in Risk Management or Insurance may substitute for the required year of experience.
- Experience collecting, evaluating, and analyzing data.
- Experience applying Florida statutes, rules, and regulations directly or indirectly related to insurance matters.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within Florida, occasionally overnight on short notice.
- Ability to communicate effectively, work independently, and establish effective working relationships.
- Ability to conduct fact‑finding research, organize data for presentation, and make recommendations based on analysis.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience proofreading detailed documents and organizing data into logical formats for presentation.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; preference for degrees in Risk Management or Insurance.
- Prior experience in audit, investigative, or regulatory environments involving insurance matters.
