What You’ll Do

This entry-level Quality Assurance Tester role supports functional testing for Pega-based applications and helps ensure high-quality deliverables across the software development lifecycle.

• Support the design and execution of functional test cases for Pega applications following established testing guidelines.
• Work closely with developers, business analysts, and senior QA members to review requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Validate system functionality against documented requirements and report discrepancies.
• Log and track defects clearly, communicating status and retest results with engineering teams.
• Assist in regression testing and maintain test artifacts (test cases, test results, checklists).
• Participate in Agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, demos, retrospectives) and support testing activities each sprint.
• Help identify test scope and estimate testing effort under guidance.
• Review test results and surface risks or issues to senior QA team members.

Minimum Qualifications

• 0–1 years of professional experience in software testing or a related internship/coursework.
• Foundational exposure to Pega testing concepts or Pega functional testing tools (coursework, training, or internship acceptable).
• Basic understanding of QA fundamentals: test case creation, defect reporting, and regression testing.
• Ability to read and interpret requirements/user stories and translate them into clear test steps.
• Familiarity with Agile ways of working (Scrum or Kanban).
• Strong written and verbal communication and documentation skills.
• Familiarity with test management or defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps).

Preferred / Bonus Qualifications

• Entry-level Pega certification (CSA, CSSA) is a plus.
• Exposure to automated testing tools that can be used with Pega (e.g., PegaUnit, Selenium for Pega UI).
• Interest in or basic exposure to test automation and CI/CD concepts.
• Familiarity with Agile-focused testing methodologies (Scrum, SAFe, hybrid).

Compensation & Benefits

• Estimated annual pay (as listed by source): $83,111 per year (estimated).
• Benefits package and other compensation details will be provided by the Confidential Client during the interview process.

Location & Clearance

• Job location: Crystal, VA (onsite / local to Crystal, VA — applicants should confirm location details during screening).
• Security requirement: TS (Top Secret) clearance required to apply. Employment is contingent on maintaining the required clearance.
