Position overview

Confidential Client is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to join an on-site manufacturing and product development team in Plainview, NY. The role focuses on ensuring products meet customer, organizational, and regulatory quality requirements (including aerospace standards where applicable), supporting supplier quality, performing inspections and FAIs, and driving continuous improvement.


What You’ll Do

  • Create and maintain test procedures, inspection plans, and quality control documentation to verify product scope and requirements.
  • Conduct quality audits and inspections; perform First Article Inspection (FAI) activities per AS9102 when required.
  • Investigate defects using root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Support product development and manufacturing teams during design reviews, process changes, and production ramp-up.
  • Lead or support supplier quality activities: review supplier first articles, develop supplier inspection plans, and perform on-site supplier audits.
  • Monitor and analyze quality metrics and trends to recommend improvements and reduce defects.
  • Support internal, customer, and 3rd-party audits and lead quality planning efforts for new products.
  • Provide training and guidance to production and operations teams on quality standards and procedures.
  • Perform other quality engineering and manufacturing support duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field) required.
  • Familiarity with quality control methodologies, root cause analysis, and corrective action processes.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; willingness to learn quality inspection software as needed.
  • Ability to work effectively across departments and independently when required.
  • Must be able to perform a mix of shop-floor walking and desk-based work; can lift up to 15 pounds.

Preferred / Desired

  • Experience in aerospace or other regulated industries and familiarity with AS9100, AS9102, ISO 9001, FAA or NADCAP standards.
  • Hands-on experience with First Article Inspection Reports (FAI) and Material Review Board (MRB) processes.
  • Quality certifications such as CQE, CQA, or similar.
  • Experience with quality inspection software (e.g., Net-Inspect, InspectionXpert) and supplier quality audits.

Work arrangement & location

  • This is a full-time, fully on-site position in Plainview, NY. Candidates must be able to commute to the facility on a regular basis.

Compensation & benefits

  • Rate: $38.50 per hour.
