Key Responsibilities
The Confidential Client is seeking a QC Scientist I to perform routine and investigative analytical testing in a GMP-regulated quality control laboratory.
- Perform HPLC, UPLC and related chromatographic analyses for release, stability and method validation studies.
- Accurately analyze, document, and report laboratory data in compliance with GMP.
- Identify, document, and communicate out-of-specification (OOS) and out-of-trend (OOT) results.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot analytical instrumentation; follow preventive maintenance schedules.
- Support method validation, qualification, and instrument/method transfers.
- Draft and revise SOPs, test methods, and laboratory records.
- Maintain laboratory safety, organization, and compliance with quality systems.
- Collaborate with QC colleagues, project leads, and clients to meet testing priorities and timelines.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biology, Biotechnology, or a closely related scientific discipline.
- Hands-on experience with HPLC, UPLC or other chromatographic instrumentation through industry work, internships, co-ops, academic research, or laboratory coursework.
- Solid understanding of analytical laboratory techniques and scientific principles.
- Strong attention to detail and high-quality documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a laboratory environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a GMP/GLP, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology QC laboratory.
- Familiarity with SEC, CEX, peptide mapping, glycan analysis or similar assays.
- Experience with chromatography data systems (example: EMPOWER) or comparable software.
- Prior involvement in method validation, stability testing, or laboratory investigations.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract-to-Hire position, fully onsite in Saint Louis, MO. Employment will be with our client (Confidential Client) if selected.
Pay & Benefits
- Pay range: $28.00 - $31.00 per hour (hourly pay for contract assignment; exact offer depends on experience and qualifications).
