What You’ll Do

As a QC Lab Technician I (entry-level), you will support routine microbiological and analytical testing to help ensure product quality and regulatory compliance in a manufacturing environment. This role is hands-on and focused on accuracy, safety, and continuous improvement.

  • Perform routine laboratory testing following established test methods and protocols.
  • Apply aseptic techniques to maintain sterility of media, equipment, and work areas.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), safety procedures, and compliance requirements.
  • Record test results accurately in laboratory systems (LIMS, SAP, or other company systems).
  • Prepare and maintain media, reagents, and basic laboratory equipment.
  • Collaborate with QC team members, participate in QC and cross-functional meetings, and support daily lab operations.
  • Help identify and document opportunities for process or efficiency improvements while maintaining quality.

Qualifications (Required)

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field OR three years of full‑time laboratory experience.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English for business purposes.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate recordkeeping.
  • Ability to follow documented procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements.
  • Dependable, safety-minded, and able to work effectively as part of a team.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

  • Previous microbiology or analytical laboratory experience.
  • Familiarity with LIMS, SAP, or other laboratory/manufacturing information systems.
  • Experience working in a GMP-regulated environment.
  • Interest in microbiology, fermentation processes, and hands-on lab learning.

Working Conditions & Schedule

  • On-site position in West Allis, WI (Culture Plant).
  • Primarily Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM.
  • Rotating pod schedule required (includes working Tuesday–Saturday for roughly four months per year).
  • Standing for majority of shift; work in a temperature-controlled lab/manufacturing environment.
  • Potential exposure to mechanical equipment, industrial noise, food/biological materials, chemical agents, and fermentation process odors.
  • Facility rules apply for PPE, hygiene, food/beverage restrictions, and cell-phone usage.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Starting pay: $26.00 per hour.
  • Benefits include:

About the Role & Team

This is an entry-level opportunity to build foundational skills in microbiology and analytical testing within a collaborative QC team. You will work alongside QC Lab Technicians, Lead Technicians, Media Technicians, and Lab Aides supporting product release and quality systems in a manufacturing setting for our confidential client.
