Role Overview
Confidential Client is hiring a QC Inspector (entry-level / Quality Assurance Specialist I) based in Houston, TX. This hands-on manufacturing role focuses on electrical product inspection and testing (switchboards, motor control centers (MCC), motor control panels). You will help ensure product quality, safety, and conformity with customer and regulatory requirements while developing your QA skills.

What You’ll Do
- Inspect assemblies and finished products (switchboards, MCCs, motor control panels) per inspection work instructions and customer specifications.
- Perform electrical testing including Hi‑Pot, continuity, megger, and breaker tests; verify breaker/switch function and torqued connections per instruction.
- Conduct in‑process inspections during fabrication and production (bending, welding, painting, assembly).
- Verify mating structures and assembly fit to prevent field installation issues.
- Confirm production documentation reflects current revisions; update BOMs, test reports, and related paperwork accurately.
- Document and communicate non‑conformances; verify rework and follow corrective actions to support continuous improvement.
- Troubleshoot and update test setups and procedures when existing methods are inaccurate.
- Act as an informal trainer and resource to production associates for complex assembly or testing tasks.
Who We’re Looking For (Minimum Qualifications)
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 6 months manufacturing, production, or military experience OR a degree in a technical discipline.
- Basic knowledge of electricity, current flow, and component functionality.
- Ability to read and interpret manufacturing documents (wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, MIs, test procedures).
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
- Local candidates only; no relocation assistance is provided.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1–2+ years in a Quality or Inspector role in manufacturing.
- Experience with switchboard, MCC, or motor control panel assembly and testing.
- Familiarity with UL, NEC, regional utility, or customer‑specific codes.
- Computer literate and comfortable recording inspection/test data.
- Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing concepts.
- Associate degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related field.
Skills & Tools
- Hi‑Pot testers, megger, continuity testers, breaker testers
- Torque wrenches and basic mechanical inspection tools
- Ability to follow and document inspection checklists and test reports
- Strong verbal and written communication and problem‑solving skills
- Attention to detail and commitment to safety
Work Environment & Other Requirements
- Onsite manufacturing environment with exposure to electrical assemblies and typical shop conditions.
- Must follow all safety policies and required PPE rules.
- No sponsorship for this role; candidates must already be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Preference for candidates residing in the Houston area due to no relocation assistance.
Compensation
