What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is seeking a Quality Assurance Laboratory Technician (Dairy) to support dairy product testing, quality programs, and food-safety activities at its La Crosse, WI facility. This is a hands-on lab role working closely with the Dairy Quality Assurance Manager and operations teams.

  • Daily sensory evaluations and shelf-life studies of dairy products
  • Collect and enter samples into a web-based laboratory data management system
  • Maintain accurate laboratory records and enter test data in a timely manner to meet quality and regulatory needs
  • Perform routine cleaning and sanitation of lab equipment and testing areas to maintain a food-safety‑compliant environment
  • Conduct environmental, product, and ingredient sampling
  • Perform Appendix N testing and other routine microbiological or chemical analyses as required
  • Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment; participate in equipment qualification as needed
  • Support existing quality programs (HACCP, FSMA, GMPs) and assist with implementation of new QA processes
  • Communicate any quality or food-safety concerns promptly to management

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, or an associate degree — OR equivalent work experience/training in Food Science or a related field
  • Experience with laboratory testing procedures and familiarity with QA/food-safety programs (HACCP, FSMA, GMPs)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and basic data entry systems
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and record-keeping skills
  • Effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds and perform routine physical tasks in a production environment
  • Valid driver’s license

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay range: $19.53 to $27.33 per hour (range provided by Confidential Client)
  • Weekend premium: additional $3.00/hour between 7:30pm Friday and 5:00am Monday (where applicable)

Work Schedule & Location

  • Location: La Crosse, WI — Department 984 (on-site)
  • Employment type: Full-time
  • Typical schedule: Monday–Friday, 4:00am to 12:00pm with rotating holidays, occasional weekends, and on-call responsibilities
