What You’ll Do
The Purchasing Clerk will manage material requirements, schedules, and shop orders for assigned value streams to maintain raw material and finished goods inventory that supports daily and forecasted sales. With minimal supervision, you’ll help reduce lead times and costs through supplier management and job planning.
- Entry-level purchasing tasks for pre-defined parts and part classes
- Process requisitions (pre-approved by managers)
- Create and maintain accurate purchase orders
- Expedite and follow up on orders; track related documents
- Apply predefined purchase quantity limits
- Support basic ship-to location and part class knowledge
- Field accounting questions related to assigned orders
- Coordinate with Maintenance Buyer and other stakeholders as needed

Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
- Previous scheduling/buying or purchasing experience
- Comfortable using basic math to analyze information
- Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and other Office tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Business, or related field (preferred)
- Experience with Epicor or similar ERP
- APICS, CPIM, CPP or related certification
- Familiarity with Lean / Continuous Improvement methods
- ISO experience
Physical & Work Environment
- Office-based role with regular exposure to the manufacturing plant and machine shop
- Regularly walk, stand, and sit; considerable computer time
- Occasionally lift or move up to 20 lbs.
- Moderate noise levels; reasonable accommodations available
Schedule, Location & Employment Type
- Employment type: Full-time
- Shift: 1st — Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (flexible 8-hr shift)
- Work location: 1040 S. 12th Street, Watertown, WI
- Estimated pay: $37,572 per year (estimated)
