What You’ll Do
The Confidential Client is hiring a Public Works Management Analyst to support the Administrative Services Division. You will provide analytical and administrative support to departmental divisions through budgeting, financial analysis, cost analysis, data analytics, and related project work. You will translate financial and operational data into clear recommendations for managers and non-financial stakeholders and participate on cross-divisional teams to improve services and decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing and monitoring the Department’s annual operating and capital budgets
- Prepare financial reports, forecasts, and analytical models to support divisional decisions
- Perform cost analysis, revenue and expense tracking, and trend evaluation
- Update budget worksheets and supporting documentation; maintain financial records
- Research organizational, financial, system, and procedural issues and summarize findings
- Prepare management reports, presentations, and recommendations for leadership
- Support contract and grant administration tasks as needed
- Work collaboratively across teams on special projects and process improvements
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field and up to two years of professional experience, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential duties of the position
- Comfortable working with financial data, spreadsheets, and analytical models
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to translate technical information for non-financial audiences
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively on cross-functional teams

Preferred / Useful Experience
- Experience with budget development and monitoring in a public-sector environment
- Familiarity with public works operations, grants, or contract administration
- Experience using data visualization or data-analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau)
- Prior work on cross-divisional projects or policy/organizational analysis
Schedule & Compensation
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; alternative schedules may be considered. Some overtime required per operational needs.
- Representation: This is an Admin‑Pro represented position.
- Estimated compensation: $74,281 per year (estimated).

The Administrative Services Division provides centralized support across the Public Works Department, including payroll, budgeting, financial management, safety, training and development, contract administration, and customer service. The Division provides leadership, analysis, and support to department leadership, staff, citizens, and the governing body to enable sound decision-making that benefits the community.
