About the Role
This is an entry-level Public Cloud Administrator position supporting a Confidential Client in Louisville, KY. This hybrid role requires onsite presence at least three days per week. You will join a team of engineers to help operate, secure, and optimize public cloud environments across AWS, Azure, and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), while also supporting existing on-prem Nutanix and VMware Horizon VDI systems.
What You’ll Do
- Deploy, configure, and manage cloud resources (compute, storage, networking, databases) across AWS, Azure, and OCI.
- Support on-prem environments (Nutanix, VMware Horizon VDI) and coordinate hybrid operations.
- Monitor cloud health, performance, and utilization; respond to routine alerts and escalate incidents.
- Participate in a rotating weekly on-call schedule to support operational continuity.
- Configure and secure cloud storage (e.g., S3) using encryption, versioning, lifecycle rules, and bucket policies.
- Implement and follow IAM basics and required security/compliance controls.
- Assist senior engineers with migrations, upgrades, and application deployments.
- Contribute to cost-optimization and performance-tuning initiatives.
- Create and maintain documentation for configurations, runbooks, and incident response.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field — OR 1–3 years of relevant practical experience.
- Foundational knowledge of cloud concepts: compute, storage, networking, and IAM.
- Working knowledge of cloud networking fundamentals (VPCs/VNETs, subnets, security groups, firewalls, DNS).
- Comfort with both Windows and Linux server environments.
- Basic scripting skills (Python, PowerShell, or Shell) and exposure to Infrastructure-as-Code concepts.
- Strong troubleshooting skills, a quick learner, and the ability to work collaboratively with technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
Nice to Have
- Internship or hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, OCI).
- Entry-level cloud certification such as AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or equivalent.
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., CloudWatch) and basic log analysis.
- Interest in pursuing further technical certifications and career growth in cloud engineering.

- Estimated annual pay (as listed by source): $86,980 per year — estimated.
