About the Role

Confidential Client is hiring a Protective Services Operator to join a Protective Services team that safeguards executives, residences, and critical assets. This entry-level, shift-based role focuses on real-time monitoring, intelligence intake, documentation, and escalation. Operators convert raw signals (support channels, social media, camera feeds, access control and visitor logs) into clear, actionable records for investigators and analysts. You will monitor systems, identify anomalies, triage incoming signals, and escalate credible threats for rapid response.

What You’ll Do

  • Monitor access control, camera, and alarm systems in real time and maintain accurate logs.
  • Triage incoming threat signals from multiple sources and escalate credible issues.
  • Produce clear, concise shift reports and intelligence summaries for investigators.
  • Document incidents and maintain chain-of-custody and confidentiality for sensitive data.
  • Support continuous improvement of operational playbooks and reporting templates.
  • Work rotating shifts (including evenings, weekends, and some holidays) in a shift-based environment.

Qualifications

  • 0–2 years of relevant experience in security operations, campus safety, military, law enforcement, emergency communications, or a related field — recent graduates with relevant coursework/internships are encouraged.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to precise documentation.
  • Ability to communicate calmly and clearly under pressure.
  • Learning mindset; comfortable with new technologies, camera systems, access control platforms, alarm monitoring, or dispatch tools (training provided).
  • Physical fitness appropriate for the role (walking and running hills required in some assignments).
  • Integrity, discretion, and the ability to handle sensitive information professionally.
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience is preferred but not required.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary range (U.S.): $74,800 - $110,000 USD. Actual compensation will be determined by factors such as experience and specific work location.
  • Comprehensive benefits for eligible employees may include: medical, dental, and vision coverage; 401(k) with employer match; paid parental leave; paid time off and sick leave in compliance with applicable laws; disability and basic life insurance; and mental health resources.
  • Clear promotion pathway into Protective Service Associate roles for qualifying performers.

Location & Schedule

  • Authoritative location: San Francisco, CA. This role is offered as telecommute / remote (job requires the ability to work U.S. hours and rotating shifts as scheduled by the team). Applicants should be able to work the required shift schedule and comply with any location-based requirements communicated during the hiring process.
