Overview

Confidential Client is hiring for multiple levels (Associate → Senior) for Station and Protection & Controls Engineer roles based in Shreveport, LA. These are full-time engineering positions on power systems teams focused on station design, protection schemes, controls, and testing. Multiple openings are available; the final level and pay will be determined based on education, experience, and relevant skills.

What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is looking for engineers who can apply intermediate engineering knowledge to analyze, design, and improve station equipment and protection/control systems.

• Provide technical analysis and engineering support for station equipment, protection relays, and controls.
• Perform studies and diagnostics to identify system interactions and recommend equipment or protection adjustments.
• Apply analytical techniques (including dividing complex problems into component steps) to complete detailed analyses.
• Recommend business process and workflow improvements based on technical findings.
• Coordinate and, when needed, guide other team members and contractors to accomplish project tasks.
• Prepare technical reports, improvement requisitions, studies, and presentations clearly and concisely.
• Use scheduling techniques (CPM, PERT, flow charts) to support project budgeting and timelines.

Skills & Responsibilities — Leadership, Planning & Decision-Making

• Coordinate routine engineering activities with minimal direction and escalate complex issues appropriately.
• Provide training and guidance to junior team members.
• Forecast costs for routine projects and initiate corrective actions when objectives are not met.
• Resolve routine technical problems and identify non-routine issues that need further analysis.
• Demonstrate business awareness — budgeting, approval processes, and basic utility regulation and financing concepts.

Qualifications

Minimum requirements vary by grade. The minimum entry-level requirements for the Associate grade are shown below; higher grades require additional experience and/or demonstrated competencies.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program (Electrical Engineering or related field preferred).
• New graduates are encouraged to pursue and ideally have passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam; future PE licensure is supported.
• Demonstrated analytical ability and familiarity with power systems, station equipment, relay protection and control systems is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to present technical material to stakeholders.
• Ability to work effectively in teams and across organizational boundaries.

Note: A VP-level exception may allow consideration of candidates from non-ABET programs.

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation is grade-based; final offer depends on experience and level.

• Engineer / Engineer Technologist Associate: $74,551 - $93,188 / yr
• Engineer / Engineer Technologist: $87,633 - $109,542 / yr
• Engineer / Engineer Technologist Sr: $98,993 - $128,688 / yr

Overall compensation range for posted grades: $74,551 - $128,688 / yr.
